  Marrymoons or Marrimoons

Marrymoons or Marrimoons ~ Where couples combine their ceremony, wedding reception and honeymoon in the one location,
now seem to be becoming more and more popular

Marrymoons or Marrimoons

With the costs of weddings rising plus the desire to do something “different” there is a new trend towards combining Wedding Ceremonies, Wedding Receptions and Honeymoons ~ marrymoons or marrimoons.  There has been a long tradition of getting married overseas, but previously this has always been a little difficult to organise and daunting if things go wrong.

With a marrymoon the numbers attending the ceremony become much more controlled, they can be more cost effective than a regular wedding and best of all – everyone gets a holiday.

For some, nothing beats organising something like this from scratch with various different suppliers all coming together at the right time.  Not everyone is that enthusiastic and the thought of planning and juggling multiple overseas suppliers at one time is enough to give some people a panic attack.

The biggest issue with getting married overseas tends to be that not everyone on your guest list will be able to make it. So if your grandparents have always dreamed of being at your wedding but are unable to travel, don't be surprised if they seems upset when you drop the bombshell that you've decided to get married overseas.

Getting married overseas can often be less expensive than the average wedding. Many couples buy their own tickets and, while the bride's family may pay for the wedding package, it's acceptable for guests to pay their own way.

You can invite just a small handful of family and friends to the wedding, so you’re only with people that you really want to celebrate with. It's the ideal excuse for not inviting unwanted relatives and all their children.

But remember, unless you head off for a second week somewhere else, you might be stuck on honeymoon with your friends and family!

Although your wedding overseas may work out cheaper initially, if you put on a second reception for all those who couldn't make it, you can end up paying as much or more than you would have done if you'd married at home in the first place!
