End week12

I have struggled with my weight all of my life. At the age of 13 I weighed 110kg! At 16 I realised how overweight I was and just how bad it was for my health; so I did something about it and lost 40kgs over the next 3 yrs. I kept this weight off up until 1 & a ½ ago, when I was ill for a long period with kidney problems, I have since put on 10kgs. I would love to have a healthy looking body for once in my life, and llok forward to this challenge in helping me achieve my goal.

Progress Report - Sunday 23rd Jan - End week 2

I feel the program is going well. I am really enjoying doing all of the exercise; I am the fittest I have ever been! (I had been working out every now and then for the past six months; doing it more regularly has really made a difference).

My fiancé and I joined the gym, which means I now don’t have to miss out if it is raining (it is always raining up here). I am really enjoying being able to have more variety in my workout too.

I have lost inches but not weight. My clothes are feeling looser already so I am happy and motivated. My fiancé has been great, we go to the gym together which makes it more pleasant, plus since he has been working out for years he is able to show me what to do. My Mum and dad are being supportive, but they do keep on buying chocolate and leaving it out for me to see (they say it is for their grandchildren in case they visit). But I am not tempted, as I really want to do this; it is something I have wanted my whole life!!!

Progress Report - Sunday 6th Feb - End week 4

I am really enjoying doing weights at the gym, and the good news is that the weight is finally starting to come off! I have lost a whole 1/2 kg.

I am happy with how the program is going so far. I can feel my body changing and it is encouraging. I really believe that I will look and feel a lot better at the end of these 12 weeks.

Dean has been really supportive, I was feeling discouraged that I hadn’t lost any weight, he made me see the whole dieting process in a different light, that it is a lifestyle change, not just a quick fix. So even though it will take longer to lose the weight this time, once the weight is off, it should be off for good.

Progress Report - Sunday 20th Feb - End week 6
I have started to include boxing in my workout. I have stopped going to the gym as it is not open late enough or early enough for me to use it now that I am working again. The Ultra Slim products have helped me stay on track, the pasta meals are for my lunch at work as they are so easy to prepare. My life has been really hectic lately and sometimes it has been hard to stick to my diet, especially with relatives visiting for Sydney; but I am determined to really make these last six weeks count and reach my goal weight.

Progress Report - Sunday 6th Mar - End week 8

It is now more than half way through the challenge, and I have settled into a new routine which includes:-

  1. Saturday - 2hr walk/run
  2. Sunday - Body boarding
  3. Monday - 2hr walk/run
  4. Tuesday - 30min walk
  5. Wednesday - 45 mins run
  6. Thursday - 45 min run
  7. Friday - break

I weigh 80.5kgs now, and I still hope to reach my goal. It is a bit easier to stay focused, as I know that there is not that much time left on the weight loss challenge. I am really happy how my fitness has improved, though I would have liked to have lost more weight by this stage. Since the beginning for the New Year I have lost a total of 6kgs so I don't feel too badly when I look at it like that.

Progress Report - Sunday 20th Mar - End week 10

Well one thing is for sure, is that I am not looking forward to Easter this year, which had previously always been my favourite time of year. My fiancé is Polish so there is always heaps of tasty Polish food to eat on Easter Sunday, I think the key this year will be moderation.

I now weigh 79kgs. My home gym has arrived so I hope to focus on toning over these next 2 weeks. The last two weeks have been hectic, as life always seems to be with me, so I have not been able to do as much exercise as I would have hoped too. Plus it was raining off and on which sort of makes it hard to exercise outside, but now with the home gym I don’t have anymore excuses. Adam and I played squash last Tuesday which is something we have not done since we lived in Sydney 6 months ago, we are going to make it part of our regular routine.

At the moment I don’t think I will reach my goal of 10kgs by the end of the challenge, but I am still confident that I will lose the weight by my wedding.

Progress Report - Sunday 28th Mar - End week 12

I now weigh 78kgs, and am a lot fitter. We have had to move the wedding forward to the 1st of May due to an illness in the family, so I am flat out making preparations. I want to congratulate the other brides on their efforts! Thank you True Bride & Get Fit for running this competition, it gave me the extra encouragement to lose the weight.
