We met at my cousin’s engagement party. At this point, I wasn't particularly interested in Daniel. It wasn't until we met again, this time at a church gathering that I fell in love. It was definitely love at second sight, because I knew he was the man I would marry.

About two months later, Daniel asked me to go to his high school formal with him and this began the roller coaster ride that was our relationship. Four years later - to the day - Daniel proposed, after an evening of wining and dining.

It was so romantic and so perfect. We had dinner at Michael's restaurant in Brisbane. Our table had a view of the river and the storey bridge, which was all lit up with night-lights. After dinner, we went for a walk along the boardwalk and Daniel went down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I immediately said yes and he produced the most perfect engagement ring ever. That night was just magical.

We only had 6 months to plan the wedding, which made for a bit of stress, but we didn't see the point of making it a long engagement, when we only wanted to be together. We decided on a 'Tropical Elegant' style wedding, and invited around 90 guests.

It was a strange feeling waking up on my wedding day. I looked out the window to see many clouds and I was a little worried. We'd had about 3 weeks of straight rain. But the day turned out to be fine, but very humid. Most people commented on it being the most humid day of the year. I was totally calm through all the preparations, getting ready and the photos, and we timed it quite well, as all of us girls had a bit of time just to sit down and have a chat before going to the hall. This is what I remember the most. It was great, just having the time to take a few silly photos and dance around a little bit, to calm the nerves.

Our ceremony was scheduled for 2.30pm and at about 11am I got a phone call from Daniel saying that the people who had rented my bridal car last weekend had trashed it. I was upset, as the car was exactly what I'd wanted, but there wasn't much we could do. So the car hire company gave us a couple of mustangs for free instead. Daniel and I were both a little let down by this, but it wasn't anything major, so we decided just to let it go.

Our Ceremony was beautiful. I cried the whole way through and could hardly say my vows. It's captured well on our video. Our Marriage Celebrant was the same man who married my Mum and Dad and my Brother and Sister-in-Law. It was held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses at Carindale. The hall looked beautiful and the gardens were great for the photos afterwards.

Our reception was at 'The Boulevard Gardens' in Indooroopilly. The rooms were gorgeous and the staff were so great. We had the room professionally decorated, so there were chair covers, topiary trees and the most perfect table centres. Simple, yet elegant.

We had 10 tables of guests and a U-shaped table for the bridal party, just for something a little different. We had 3 courses and the food was AMAZING! After a few speeches and cutting the cake, we danced the night away. I remember having so much fun and dancing and laughing with all my friends. It was exactly how I had wanted it.

The photos were a lot of fun, and they turned out beautifully. The feeling that flowed through the whole day I feel was happiness and love. Daniel and I were so happy and so in love. The reception was definitely a lot of fun. We were so relaxed by the time we got to our reception, and we just kicked up our heels and enjoyed the party. It was great. But you know, if I had to pick my favourite part of the day, I don't think I could, the whole day was perfect and everything went according to plan, except for the car situation.

If I had the chance to do it all again, I wouldn't change a thing. I had an amazing time and for Daniel and I, it was totally perfect. I definitely got stressed with planning things. But looking back now, I realise it wasn't necessary. It all worked out perfectly.

The only trouble we had were with the bridesmaids dresses. I had my heart set on fuchsia dresses, as the bouquet I had chosen was fuchsias and orange tulips. We had decided to hire the dresses, which made the process a little more difficult, as you can imagine, not many stores would carry bright pink dresses. We finally found a little hire shop in Sunnybank that had the most perfect dresses. And to top it off, they were amazingly well priced. So that settled that.

But the on a whole the planning was a lot of fun. My only advice is, don't let yourself get too stressed. It'll all work out. Enjoy the time you spend with your husband to be and with your bridesmaids, because I can guarantee, you'll look back on this time fondly.

I think the hardest thing to arrange was the seating arrangement. My mother-in-law to be and I had different ideas of who should sit where and this created a little bit of friction. But on the day it all worked out well.

The easiest things to arrange were the ceremony and reception decorations and the flowers. My mother-in-law-to-be owns a wedding decoration business and they did everything for us exactly how we wanted and provided us with ideas when we didn't have any. This was a great stress off our minds and it turned out to be magical.

Our honeymoon was great. We went to Springbrook Mountain Chalets on the top of Springbrook Mountain. There were only 5 individual chalets, all set in the bush, away from the hustle and bustle of the world. It was so relaxing. The perfect hideaway to unwind. We visited a winery, a glowworm cave, went on a few mountain walks, but overall just relaxed and enjoyed each other's company. Well worth it!

**********************************************

I would like to take this opportunity to thank a few special people.

Firstly, Daniel's Best man, who is his younger brother, gave a gorgeous speech and I thank him very much for it.

Also, my bridesmaids were great in supporting me on the day and I thank them for this.

To both my Mum and Dad and my new Mum and Dad, I thank them for all their help and support.

Last but definitely not least, to my new husband, Daniel. He was the most supportive of everyone and he managed to stay extremely calm throughout everything. That was the most important thing to me, to have someone there who I could turn to, when the wedding planning got a little crazy.

Looking back, it was such a beautiful day and I'm wouldn't change a thing. Just remember to enjoy the day because it goes so fast!!!
