  Pricy Wedding Gowns

The average Australian spend (nationwide) on a gown is approximately, $1,600.00.

The most expensive wedding gown, recorded as at September 2003, was priced at $450,000.00! It came inclusive of 1,100 diamonds totalling 300 carats and 50 metres of silk organza.

This even surpasses the wedding gown worn by Donald Trump's third wife, Melania at their recent wedding, on Saturday January 22nd, 2005. (Donald Trump took a walk down the aisle for the third time to marry 34 year old long time love interest Slovanian born model Melania Knauss.)

Melania's wedding gown, valued between $100,000 and $200,000 was made especially for her by Christian Dior. The dress was a white strapless satin gown with over 300 feet of material including 1,500 crystal rhinestones and pearls all hand sewn. A 13 foot train and a 16 foot veil complete the package to make Melania 'MrsTrump The Third'! This dress was featured in Vogue, just before the wedding.

So when your hubby-to-be is complaining about the amount you plan on spending on your gown, let him know it could have been worse!
