Your Wedding Photographer
is a very important part of your special day.
Your wedding photographs will
serve as a reminder of the happiness and joy of your wedding
day. Therefore, you need to find someone who will create masterpieces
with your photos. Take your time in finding someone, but do
it early, as many good wedding photographers can get booked
up quickly.
Once you have a list of possible
wedding photographers made up, and appointments made to meet
with each of them, you'll need to interview them, just as
if you were looking to interview a potential employee. While
meeting with them, if you feel like you’re being sold a product,
rather than an opportunity to have some great pictures, then
you can cut the appointment off and leave. You have no obligation
to choose anyone until you’re completely satisfied with your
choice.
Ask to see their wedding photography
portfolio to get a feel for their style & technique. If it
doesn't match with what you want & like, then consider going
to another photographer. Perhaps you want your pictures to
be bright and colourful and dynamic, but the wedding photographer
you are interviewing specialises in old style black and white
type wedding photography. If so, move on - there are plenty
of fish in the sea.
Also, make sure their photographs
are recent. They may have done their best work 5 or 10 years
ago and have been cruising on that past reputation. See what
they are capable of now before you make that all-important
final decision about who is going to be entrusted with taking
your wedding photographs.
One last point to consider:
often couples make the mistake of basing their decision on
wedding photography entirely on price. In the end, you usually
find that if you decide on price, you get what you pay for.
It is wise to keep your budget
in mind when selecting a wedding photographer but it should
not be an excuse to not do your homework and evaluate the
quality and professionalism of the photographer. Remember,
you will have to live with the consequences of your decision.
Your wedding is a very special
day, and a great set of wedding photographs is a wonderful
way to remember all the excitement and emotion of that day,
so choose wisely and have no regrets.
At True Bride, we want to make
this decision as easy as possible for you, so we've added
a large range of Wedding photographers to our Wedding Directory,
so that you can review which photographers are available to
meet your needs, and where they are.
