BRIDE OF THE YEAR 2020

Bride of the Year 2020 - Winner

There were twenty two gorgeous finalists in the 2020 Bride of the Year Competition, True Bride's twentieth annual competition. Each of the twenty two entrants had become finalists from hundreds of contestants throughout the year, each deserving a chance to win. But there can only be one winner and in the end Cristie Cragg received the highest amount of votes, and was crowned 'Bride of the Year' 2020. Congratulations Cristie!

Cristie's Competition Experience

I absolutely loved our wedding photos, they were better than I ever imagined they would be and I really wanted the opportunity to share them. When I came across the competition, I thought it was a wonderful way of sharing my photos with family and friends and I also love a good competition and the prize money was definitely inviting.

During the competition I really enjoyed receiving everyone’s lovely comments and watching who had taken the time to vote for me along the way. I found myself reliving my wedding day, admiring our photos and reading our story over and over, many, many, many, times with friends.  Our friends were so keen to know all about the competition, what it was, what it entailed and what the prize would be. I shared the True Bride social media posts with them and sent an email to my work colleagues asking for their support by voting for me. It was another part of our wedding experience we were able to enjoy with them.

I had hoped to win the whole time but when I first got the call to say that I had won, I was so excitemed. Being told that I had actually won was a huge surprise! I was soamazed to have won a national competition and I am very grateful to those who voted for me. As soon as I could, I called my husband to tell him how lucky he was to have married Bride of the year! Hehe! He jokingly responded that if he wasn’t such a handsome groom also I wouldn’t have got the win. He congratulated me telling me how awesome it was and we looked over the photos and our wedding story together again when he got home.

When the announcement was made on social media my phone went crazy with calls and messages from family and friends. They are all so happy for me, very excited and surprised reactions from most of them about the big win.

Bride of the Year 2020 - Winner

I think the Bride of the Year Competition is a brilliant idea for brides to make their moment last a little longer. I really liked how you share your photos and beautiful memories, post your wedding story, share with friends and could see who had voted for you and the number of votes, I checked it a number of times a day it was fun, definitely very engaging!

The prize money is a bonus and another great reason to enter. We plan to use it towards a honeymoon without the children when the opportunity arises, more than likely chasing warmer weather on Hamilton Island or in North Queensland.

I am thrilled to be crowned "Bride of the Year 2020"!
