The Romance

Our initial meeting was not one to brag about! We met at a tavern on a night out and I actually thought Daniel was quite rude and obnoxious (he was extremely drunk). We barely chatted and I thought that would be the last I would ever see/hear of him. He tracked me down on Facebook not longer after our initial meeting (stalker haha). I thought I had escaped him however this was only the beginning. I truly believe it is men like Daniel who have proven in history that "persistence" really is "key" haha. Every chance he got when I was online he would say hello and try to chat with little or no response from me. The most I would ever say to him was "Sorry, I'm just getting offline now. Gtg bye" After time and time again I thought ... "Jeeze, I really should give him a chance".

The Proposal

Eight years later...here we are. We went on a holiday to the West coast of USA. Hollywood,San Francisco and Las Vegas. While in Vegas Daniel had booked a helicopter flight to see the Grand Canyon in style. We flew on in. Landed inside the canyon, were served a picnic with some bubbly. Daniel prompted another tourist to take a photo of us in front of the pink and purple sunset. While posing for the photo Daniel pulled away and dropped to his knee, opened a small box and asked "Will you marry me beautiful?" This was one of the most memorable and special moments of my life to date.

The Planning

We were in no rush to begin the planning. But when we did, Daniel proved his new "husband" title was very well lived up to as he gave me the reins and said he was happy with whatever I chose to do. Most of the main suppliers/vendors were booked within 6 months and there were little to no hiccups. I really enjoyed planning our big day. I think that truly comes down the choice of my wedding suppliers. Without their help and planning the day would not have happened.

The Wedding Day

The day was overcast and still. The middle of Autumn. The ladies got ready on site at Maleny Manor and the boys prepped themselves at accommodation off site. I was the first one awake in the morning 5am to start getting ready. I was mostly calm throughout the getting ready process with time to spare to relax for half an hour before walking down the aisle. Having my sisters, my two friends and mother with me while prepping for the big moment everyone eased my nerves. I don't know how I would have done it without them and the team at Maleny Manor.

The Ceremony

Our ceremony was held under the love tree. Live acoustic by Matthew Barker and a cascade of florals by Ginger Lily & Rose down the tree. Walking down that aisle towards my soon to be husband was a dream come true. There were no amount of pictures or footage that could capture the amount of love I felt in that moment.

The Reception

Our reception followed within the Manor celebrating over dinner, drinks and hilarious speeches. If I had my time again, I would invent a slowmo button! Everything happened so quick. I felt like I blinked and the day was over. It was the best day of my life.

The Honeymoon

We went to the South Island of New Zealand and travelled around in a camper-van. Wow. Just wow, I love New Zealand.

Wedding Advice ...

Take everything in as it goes. Embrace every moment. Don't stress over the little or even the big things - The only person who will know it shouldn't be like that is you. Remember why you are doing this and who you are doing this with.
