The Romance
We met 10 years ago, I worked as a store manager at a Men’s Clothing Store where Brett came in one Saturday morning and asked me on a date and I'll never forgot that shirt he wore. He was hovering around the shop which seemed strange at the time so I confronted him soon after with my normal sales pitch and soon realising I needed to get this crazy person out of my shop. Trying to walk him out of the shop without hurting his feelings so I could run and hide in the back room because i didn’t know him from a bar of soap. Not answering his question as we got to the front of the shop he turns and says 'so you going to give me your number' not sure in that second if at the time I just wanted him to leave or I was curious but gave him my number. Food then brought us together after a few months of dining out on a Friday night Brett said he could cook better than one of the meals we had one time, so I gave him a challenge or two and to my surprise he succeeded and meeting a man that could impress me at the dining table and make me laugh was definitely a keeper in my eyes.
PS: Actually the real reason he found his way into my shop was apparently we had met before .... To my surprise when I was out at a local cocktail bar the weekend prior celebrating a friends modelling career after her river photo shoot earlier that day, I was super tired and had had one too many cocktails, I went to catch some fresh air and Brett was the man I was chatting to out the front - I mentioned where I worked hahaha
The Proposal
I knew he was the one early in the relationship. He was just so likeable a true gentlemen from opening my door and more. The moment I knew was one night watching tv when he fluffed a pillow behind me to make sure I was comfortable that would have been a year after we met. Brett proposed after planning a weekend away at a beach front resort, I was sipping wine on the verandah watching the sunset. I thought he was on the toilet so I had no idea, what he was up to. He came out to the verandah and had written in black Niko all over his body 'Will You Marry Me' and got on one knee with the ring. Was one of the best days of my life. See photo
The Planning
My mother did everything, without her the day would not of happened. I have a special bond that has only grown stronger now. She is my best friend and loyal companion.
The Wedding Day
Brett and his family stayed on the property the night before wedding and I stayed with the bridal party at a cottage in Yungaburra. I was surrounded by family leading up to the ceremony while Brett with his family at the venue. We did not see each other until the ceremony and Brett shed a tear when my dad handed me over to him after walking down the aisle. The Food was amazing and our photographer made sure the day was captured and my Uncle who is also my Godfather took care of the smooth running of the reception. I was lucky to have the best MC one could ask for.
The Ceremony
Our ceremony was a traditional Cathloic ceremony, with a Catholic Deacon that was approved by the Church at Lavender Hill. The atmosphere was relaxed having a beautiful lake as the backdrop.
The Reception
Our reception and ceremony were both at Lavender Hill over looking a beautiful lake. It was formal in the traditional sense with speech’s, garter toss and arch exit under a outdoor fairy light canopy designed by my husband with coloured cellophane used on spotlights for going up the tree truck.
The theme was Vintage Garden, we had stunning table centerpieces with artificial decorative moss and vine leaf surrounding small antique items on each table included old Avon bottles, crystal chests and cups, clocks, lamps, English tea cups and saucers, brass wine sets, nautical items, tobacciana items and more. I collected these items after Brett proposed ( over 3 years) and my mum designed each table so guests all had different valuables and fresh flowers to view throughout the night. My dad made the cake stand restoring an old antique wooden wagon. We had a kids area set up with rubber numbers and colouring books and crayons. Our beverages were served from a retro caravan and our personal chef prepared from the house bbq and wait staff served our meals. Our catering was a contempary banquet, canapes and children had chicken/fish and chips. Our floral arrangements and flower crown was mixed blooms including white, soft peach, gums, babies breath, lavender and wheat. Cam Kettle was our guitarist played accoustic throughout the evening. Great memories made with all of our close family and friends.

The Honeymoon
We spent 2 weeks in Airlie Beach and my husband picked the best apartment in the building on the highest level at a 5 start resort overlooking the ocean at Peppers. We did daily massages, spas in our room, scenic flight of the heart reef, went to a comedy show and dined in the main street every second night whilst on the other we got takeaway and ate on the verandah.
Hens Night ...
I had the best Hens Weekend a gal could ask for with a beach front house in Machans Beach Cairns with private yoga classes with my girls and a painting party and a topless waiter to take care of all the drinks and food throughout the night.
